Cary Pet Nannies
Service & Policy Agreement
The following agreement will remain valid and considered contractual for future service (through written confirmation via email or postal mail), with the exception of any fee changes, frequency in visits, or total number of visits. The parties agree hereto as follows:
Scheduling, Payment, Special Fees, & Cancellation
To guarantee service and standard pricing, please make arrangements at least seven (7) days in advance. "Tentative" appointments are not considered scheduled until we get positive written confirmation from you (email or postal mail).
Fees will be based on the fee schedule posted at www.carypetnannies.com. In addition, a 25% non-refundable deposit will be required 60 days in advance to hold a reservation for any of the holidays stated on the fee schedule.
For pet sitting of seven (7) days or less, we require payment in full before sitting will begin. For pet sitting consisting of eight (8) days or more, 50% payment is due before sitting commences with the remainder due immediately upon your return. For Daily Dog Walks, payments are due by each Saturday. Payment is required in full for all other services upon completion of those services rendered. A Late Charge of 10% may be added if payment is not received within three (3) days of service. Non-payment of services will require legal action. Cancellations with less than 3 days notice before the first visit will incur a cancellation charge of $25 because many times we are forced to refuse clients due to unavailable time.
Preparation
Please ensure that Cary Pet Nannies has all necessary contact information before you leave. Also, we want to provide the best care for your pets, so please inform us of any new pets in your home or any changes in pet care.
Cary Pet Nannies must have a key to your home before you leave - we will NOT pick up or leave keys "under the mat" due to safety issues. In addition, we will NOT lock keys in the house after the last visit, as we must be able to access your home in case you are delayed and your pet needs additional visits. We strongly recommend that you let us keep your key for future services. Many of our clients enjoy the comfort of knowing that if something comes up (e.g., working late, iron or stove left on, etc.), your pet sitter has a key and would be more than happy to help you out in a pinch.
If you have made any lock and/or alarm code changes, it is critical that you notify us when scheduling service and provide us with the new key and/or code. In the event that Cary Pet Nannies requires a locksmith to gain entry into client's premises because the key given to us will not work or the lock malfunctions, it shall be the responsibility of the client to reimburse for all cost incurred. The client expressly gives Cary Pet Nannies the authority to employ a locksmith on client's behalf in the event of the aforementioned occurrence.
While some people may feel comfortable leaving doors unlocked or open, Cary Pet Nannies must politely decline to visit an unsecured home. Homes must be kept locked to ensure our safety (and your pet's!), and to meet insurance requirements.
During our visits, we want to spend quality time with your pets rather than searching for supplies. Please ensure your sitter knows the location of all supplies, and that you have enough pet food, litter, and paper towels for the entire time you're away. If we need to purchase any supplies, we will do so, but additional charges will apply.
Service
We understand that while you are away, you might have family/friends willing to help out with some visits, or even have family or friends stay in your home. Unfortunately, we cannot "job-share" due to insurance guidelines and other liability issues and must regretfully decline any service requests.
Cary Pet Nannies cannot guarantee a specific arrival time. We will do our best to arrive close to your preferred time, but we must allow for a one-hour window in case of traffic and/or any unforeseen issues.
In the event of personal emergency or illness of the sitter, client authorizes Cary Pet Nannies to arrange for another qualified person to fulfill responsibilities. Client will be notified if possible in such a case.
Should your pet require veterinary assistance and the specified veterinarian is unavailable, Cary Pet Nannies is authorized to seek emergency medical and/or emergency treatment (excluding euthanasia) as recommended by an alternate veterinarian. Client agrees to reimburse Cary Pet Nannies for expenses incurred within three days of treatment or within three days of client's return - whichever comes first.
In the event of inclement weather or natural disaster, Cary Pet Nannies is entrusted to use best judgment in caring for client's pet(s) and home. Cary Pet Nannies will be held harmless for consequences related to such decisions. Cary Pet Nannies will always do everything possible to get to your house and care for your pet. Dog walks: it will be at the discretion of the pet sitter to judge if the weather poses a risk to them or the pet, and to substitute an indoor play session for the walk.
PLEASE NOTIFY CARY PET NANNIES AS SOON AS YOU ARE PHYSICALLY HOME. We understand that your plans may change during travel. We (and your pets) greatly appreciate if you can keep us informed of any change in plans. To guarantee your pets' well-being we will automatically continue to make visits if the contractual end date has passed and we have not been informed of your return; these unscheduled visits will be charged as Emergency Visits. In addition, if you return early you will still be charged to your contractual end date. Your time has been reserved especially for you to the exclusion of all others, therefore your payment is non-refundable.
Should the sitter be bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease, ailment, or injury from client's animal or premises, it will be the client's responsibility to pay all cost and damages incurred by the sitter.
Cary Pet Nannies and its employees or independent contractors shall not be held responsible for the loss, injury, or death of any pet while the pet is not under their Care, Custody and Control (I.e. a dog that digs under or jumps over a fence; invisible fence malfunctions, etc.).
I understand, agree to, and will abide by the policies and content of this agreement and by signing below take full responsibility for the prompt payment of contracted services.
